Rebs for RODS
Rebs for RODS
MEMBER SINCE - July, 2016
Hello everyone! Chloe Richards and Brandi Tant here. We're so excited to announce that we're going to be participating in the 2017 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and even more excited to be fundraising for RODS (Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome).
RODS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission "is to nurture a positive image of Down syndrome and to promote awareness for the adoption of orphans with Down syndrome by raising adoption grant funds, one child at a time, and by participating in organized, athletic races and awareness events."
A little background on us: We met our very first weekend of college at Ole Miss and joined the same sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. We started training together just a few weeks ago and while Chloe is about to move to Orlando and Brandi to Atlanta, we are going to be sure to keep up our training while separated and stay dedicated!
Chloe: Last year I ran the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles) and fundraised nearly $3,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand. While I'll be dialing back the mile this year, only running the half marathon, I don't plan on dialing back the fundraising. Thank you for all your support last year and I look forward to another successful fundraiser!
Brandi: Unlike Chloe, I've never run a marathon. However, I'm so excited and determined to run the WDW Marathon because of this wonderful organization I will be representing. We're both so thrilled to be a part of this and are eager to meet out fundraising goals!
