Risa has been married to RODS teammate Rob Wight for over 36 years and together they have three children, Alex (another RODS teammate), Maddie and Nick (both RODS volunteers) and resides in Boulder, Colorado. Risa immediately embraced the RODS team because it connects so many passions of hers – orphans, Down Syndrome, philanthropic work, family and racing. Risa adopted a child who was an orphan and has a son with Down Syndrome. Risa’s whole family volunteers with RODS which makes it extra special. Plus, Risa loves to race, and has been running for more years than she can count, has raced triathlons since 2007, completing nine full distance Ironmans, 25+ half distance Ironmans and dozens of shorter races. You will see Risa volunteering at most of the Disney races for RODS, because Disney is another passion of hers too!
