MEMBER SINCE - August, 2016
Twenty years ago, on January 3, 1997 my dad John DeJager passed away after a battle with lung cancer. When my dad turned 40, he decided to quit his two pack a day smoking habit and start running to get healthy. None of us had a clue that he would then go on to run 2 marathons a year over the next 10 years with his friends at ALARC (American Lung Association Running Club). In honor of his memory and zest for running races, I decided to train and run a half-marathon in 2017. I made the choice to run to raise money for an organization that helps orphans with Down Syndrome find a forever home. I will be running the Disney World Star Wars Half Marathon on April 27 in Orlando FL with my dad’s brother Terrence and my cousin Shana.
I have a big fundraising goal of $1,400 to meet! I would be so grateful for your support in helping me raise funds for RODS (Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome). RODS has already raised enough money to complete 15 adoptions! Donations to RODS can be made online and they are a 501(c) 3 tax deductible charity.
Thank you very much for considering a donation to RODS!
Much love and many blessings to you in the New Year!
